Descaling
Scale (oxides) is made up of solids and sediments that form on the surface of metals from hot-forming, heat treatments, welding and other high-temperature operations. Scale also forms on the inner surfaces such as boilers, heat exchangers and system piping from iron oxides, aluminum hydroxide, calcium carbonate and solids that carry over from water treatment plants.
Descaling is the removal of scale from these surfaces using a mild acid treatment. The PUREPASS® Passivation process has proven to be very effective at removing scale deposits and sludge of any degree from various metals, internal passages of boilers, heat exchangers and process water systems.
