The management of PUREPASS SERVICES INC. is vitally interested in the health and safety of its employees. It is the policy of the company that its operations shall be carried out with the greatest regard and continuing objective of protecting employees from injury or occupational disease.
PUREPASS SERVICES INC. will make every effort to provide a safe, healthy work environment and to prevent injury to our employees by taking all possible steps to improve working conditions and practices. As an employer, the company is ultimately responsible for worker health and safety. As President, I give you my personal commitment and promise that every reasonable precaution for the protection of workers in the workplace will be taken. In order to ensure the safety of our workers, the company has developed this health and safety program manual with company policies and procedures that everyone is instructed and expected to follow at all times.
PUREPASS SERVICES INC. functions in conformity to the safety laws, regulations, codes, and standards applying to its operations including the duty to ensure that machinery and equipment are safe and that workers work in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures to protect his or her own health and safety. Workers will receive information, training and competent supervision in their specific work tasks to protect their health and safety.
Our incident prevention program must have the commitment and the co-operative efforts of all parties, from the President to the workers in order to be successful. Everyone is responsible for recognizing and eliminating hazards in the workplace, as they are uncovered and to consider health and safety in every undertaking and activity.
Environmental Policy
PUREPASS SERVICES INC. recognizes environmental protection as one of our guiding principles and a key component of sound business performance. We are committed to providing a quality service in a manner that ensures a safe and healthy workplace for our employees and minimizes our potential impact on the environment.
- We will operate in compliance with all relevant federal, provincial and municipal legislation and we will strive to use pollution prevention and environmental best practices in all we do.
- We will integrate consideration of environmental concerns and impacts into all of our decision-making and activities.
- We will promote environmental awareness among our employees and encourage them to work in an environmentally responsible manner.
- We will train, educate and inform our employees about environmental issues that may affect their work.
- We will reduce waste through re-use and recycling and by purchasing recycled, recyclable or re-furbished products and materials where these alternatives are available, economical and suitable.
- We will promote efficient use of materials and resources throughout our facility including water, electricity, raw materials and other resources, particularly those that are non-renewable.
- We will avoid unnecessary use of hazardous materials and products, seek substitutions when feasible, and take all reasonable steps to protect human health and the environment when such materials must be used, stored and disposed of.
- We will purchase and use environmentally responsible products that have been selected based on criteria including low toxicity or environmental hazard, durability, use of recycled materials, reduced energy and/or water consumption reduced packaging and ability to be recycled, refilled or refurbished at end of life.
- We will where required by legislation or where significant health, safety or environmental hazards exist, develop and maintain appropriate emergency and spill response programs.
- We will regularly communicate our environmental program to our clients, customers and the public and encourage them to support it.
We will strive to continually improve our performance by periodically reviewing our environmental policy in light of our current and planned future activities.
